HM King Mohammed VI and French President François Hollande on Saturday visited the exhibition “Treasures of Islam in Africa, from Timbuktu to Zanzibar”, held in the Arab World Institute in Paris.
On this occasion, HM the King and the French Head of State, accompanied by President of the Arab World Institute, Jack Lang, toured the different parts of this exhibition which proposes a three-stage journey: Spread of Islam, religious practices, arts of Islam.
This unprecedented exhibition is devoted to the close ties between the Arab-Muslim world and sub-Saharan Africa.
From Morocco to Senegal, through Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali and many other countries of the continent, the exhibition retraces several centuries of history through art and architecture.
This visit was attended by several figures from the worlds of art, culture and politics.
