Vice-President of the European Commission, Maroš Šefčovič, visited Cyprus

Open citizens’ dialogue with Mr. Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Energy Union has been organized by the University of Cyprus and the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus, on Monday, 11 January 2016 at the University Campus (1 Panepistimiou Avenue, 2109, Aglantzia).

The open discussion focused on the creation of a resilient energy union with a forward-looking climate change policy and the future of Europe.

Professor Constantinos Christofides, Rector of the University of Cyprus welcomed the discussion, while Associate Professor Marina Neophytou, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, had the moderator’s role.

EC Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič’s had  meetings with President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiadis and the MFA, Ioannis Kasoulidis  and visited the Vasilikos Power Station and control room.
