The Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus is organising an information visit to Brussels between 22 and 25 February 2016 for Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot young persons actively involved the civil society of Cyprus, volunteering organisations, culture and sport activities and young leadership.
The aim of the visit is to acquaint the participants with European Union’s institutions such as the Commission, Council, Parliament, European Economic and Social Committee and Committee of the Regions. Main focus will be given to the European integration, citizen’s rights and the rights of the young persons. Presentations on the initiatives of the European Union with respect to youth and volunteering will be given to the participants who will have the opportunity to network and create bonds between them as well as with officials of the European Commission who will be attending the meetings for possible future collaboration.
The costs of the visit are covered by the European Commission. These include the flight ticket, accommodation, transportation in Brussels from and to the airport and the meeting places and certain meals. A bus transfer from the centre of Nicosia may be available to facilitate your departure and arrival.
Eligible for the visit are young persons of the age of 18 – 30 actively involved in the political, social and cultural life of Cyprus. The young persons should represent a non-governmental organisation with actions on volunteering organisations, culture and sports activities, University activities and young leadership. Please note that no interpretation will be available, therefore excellent command of the English language is required.
