Greece maintains an Embassy in Baghdad, and Iraq is represented in Greece by its Embassy in Athens.

Political Relations

Greece is in favour of maintaining the independence and territorial integrity of Iraq, within the framework of the relevant UN resolutions, and participates in the international community’s efforts in Iraq to consolidate democratic structures, develop an open and sustainable open market economy, and incorporate Iraq into the regional and international political system. Greece promotes the economic and social reconstruction of Iraq, with emphasis on programmes aimed at improving education, health, provision of aid to refugees and displaced persons, demining, provision of relief to the Iraqi population and reconstruction of the country.
