The Greek Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, is also accredited to Malaysia, and the Malaysian Embassy in Berlin is accredited to our country. There is an Honorary Greek Consulate in Kuala Lumpur, which is the largest city and economic center in Malaysia (the federal administrative center is Putrajaya).
Political Relations
Political relations are developing gradually, particularly on a multilateral level, while there is great potential for further support in all sectors (particularly in the shipping and trade sector, in view of the spectacular growth of the Malaysian economy over the past 20 years). Our country supports a sovereign and democratic Malaysia that respects the principles of human rights and contributes actively and positively to regional and international cooperation. Our cooperation to date within the framework of mutual support of candidacies in International Organizations has been satisfactory.
Very few Greeks reside in Malaysia; a few families reside in Kuala Lumpur.
