Ambassador of Sweden, Charlotte Wrangberg, and Migration officer, Despina Tsoukalas, travelled to Lesvos earlier this week on a visit for EU- and Schengen-Embassies organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Minister of Migration Ioannis Mouzalas and EU-Minister Nikos Xydakis participated as well.

Several refugee arrivals were noticed during the visit which also included transport with the Hellenic Coast Guards. The Embassies also visited the refugee centre of Kara Tepe and the reception and asylum centre of Moria. Meetings were held with UNHCR, Frontex, the Police, the Mayor of Lesvos as well as the Governor of the North Aegean Region.
