US Embassy in Greece congratulated the Greek-American, Dr. Constantine Dafermos, winner of the 2016 Norbert Wiener Prize in Applied Mathematics

US Embassy in Greece congratulated the Greek-American Dr. Constantine Dafermos, the distinguished professor of Brown University, for winning the 2016 Norbert Wiener Prize in Applied Mathematics.

”Congratulations to Greek-American Dr. Constantine Dafermos, the distinguished professor of Brown University, for winning the 2016 Norbert Wiener Prize in Applied Mathematics. Presented by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), the prize honors Dafermos “for his foundational work in partial differential equations and continuum physics.”

Presented every three years, the AMS-SIAM Wiener Prize honors research in applied mathematics, in its highest and broadest sense. The prize will be awarded on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Seattle”, mentioned the US Embassy in Greece.
