Greece’s Embassy in Lima (Peru) has parallel accreditation for Ecuador, and Ecuador is represented in Greece by its Embassy in Budapest. Greece has two Honorary General Consulates in Ecuador: one in Quito and one in Guayaquil.


Political Relations

Greece established diplomatic relations with Ecuador in 1966. Relations between the two countries are good, and bilateral and multilateral cooperation is satisfactory.

The Greek community in Ecuador consists of around 50 persons, mostly living in the country’s capital, Quito and Guayaquil. There is significant traffic of Greek ships At the port of Guayaquil and a Greek factoring and logistics company is active there.
Ecuador is under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Greek Orthodox Metropolitanate of South America, seated in Buenos Aires.
