European Commission decided to allocate additional €500 million for humanitarian assistance (video)

The European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides announces new funds for Refugee Crisis.  The budgetary support is one of the European Commission’s priority actions to manage the refugee crisis.

“As you know two weeks ago the Commission decided to allocate additional €500 million for humanitarian assistance on the ground, specifically for urgent needs. Today I would like to announce that we have already signed contracts with our partners on the ground WFP, ICRC, UNHCR for over €50 million , the remaining amount for the first period of €150 million is being negotiated and we are planning to conclude all negotiations within days” , announced Mr. Stylianides.
