The Norwegian Ambassador, Mr. Gjelstad and the Greek Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Skourletis spoke about an Integrated Marine and Inland Water Management Program. The program has a new holistic approach to water: Fresh inland water and marine ecosystems is dealt with in an integrated approach, instead as separate sectors.
Norway strongly supports this program through the EEA and Norway Grants. A quarter of the total funding, about €450 million, is devoted to environmental protection, climate change and sustainable development.
