Junker to unveil plans for new European border surveillance agancy

European Commission President, Jean Claude Juncker, will unveil plans on Tuesday to create an EU Border and Coast Guard agency to curb the 1.5m refugees that are expected to try and enter the Schengen area next year, reported The Daily Telegraph. The agency will have the power to patrol the external borders of a member state within Schengen (which excludes Britain) without its consent, deploy a standing force of 1,500 border guards “within days”, and issue orders to seal any gaps in the border to national border forces.
