The Democratic People´s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) repeated and blatant violations of UN Security Council resolutions threaten international and regional peace and security. Only last week, it launched ballistic missiles on four occasions.
The DPRK must cease missile launches, refrain from a nuclear test and respond constructively to the readiness for dialogue expressed by the United States, the Republic of Korea and other members of the international community.
The only route to sustainable peace and security on the Korean peninsula lies in the DPRK abiding by international law and engaging with the international community in a manner that increases the well-being of people of the DPRK. The EU is ready to support a new diplomatic process aimed at facilitating such a process.
