Morocco and Cuba agreed last Friday to resume their 37 years interrupted diplomatic relations.
King Mohammed the VI has been just recently on holidays in Havana for six days before he flied to Miami. The Ministry of foreign affairs in Morocco said in a Press Release that this decision comes under his instructions.
A joint statement was signed between the Permanent Missions of the two countries to the United Nations in New York, providing for the re-establishment of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level, the ministry pointed out in its statement.
The next move will be the opening of Moroccan Embassy in Havana.
