Gestures, physical motion, theater, dance and many other performative action tell about people, culture and society. But, too often they tend to be unnoticed both in academic and public discussion. On 30 October this theme, however, is on focus in Helsinki. The speakers will tangle the subject from varying viewpoints in classical and Medieval Greek framework. The speakers are prof. Leslie Brubaker (University of Birminghamin), prof. Stavroula Konstantinou (University of Cyprus), PhD, lecturer Nicoletta Isar (University of Copenhagen), PhD Marie-H\u00e8l\u00e9ne Delavaud-Roux (University of Brest), PhD Vesa Vahtikari (Finnish Institute at Athens) and PhD Manna Satama (University of Helsinki). After the spoken performances, we will have the opportunity to see a dance performance influenced by ancient Greek drama (Marie-H\u00e8l\u00e9ne Delavaud-Roux).<\/p>\n
