Greece and Denmark have mutual representation on the Embassy level. There is Honorary Greek Consulate in Torshavn (Faroe Islands).
Political Relations
Greek-Danish relations are at a very good level and are determined to a great extent by the participation of the two countries in the European Union and NATO. The two sides cooperate regularly in the context of bilateral consultations and within the framework of meetings at international organizations, in continuation of a practice established during the two countries’ past EU Presidencies.
Cultural Relations and Greek Community
The Greek Embassy in Copenhagen and the Danish Embassy in Athens work to strengthen cultural exchanges between the two countries via exhibitions, concerts, lectures and other events. The Universities of Copenhagen and Aarhus each have a Classical Studies Chair, while there is also a Modern Greek Studies Chair at the University of Copenhagen. An estimated 2,000 Greeks reside in Denmark, mostly in the Copenhagen area, where the “Greek Community of Denmark” has its headquarters.
