Lecture at Carleton University on “The Wreck of Cesnolas’s Napried”

A lecture was held at Carleton University, by Associate Professor Elizabeth S. Green, on “The Wreck of Cesnolas’s Napried”. The lecture was jointly sponsored by the Canadian Institute in Greece, the Canadian Institute of Mediterranean Studies, the Archeological Institute of America and Parnassos Hellenic Cultural Society.

In this regard, Dr. Greene’s talk provided some fascinating insight into efforts being made to find the ship Napried, and also into problems that may arise pertaining to law and ethics, governing underwater archaelogical research.

In his introductory remarks, Ambassador George L. Marcantonatos underlined the importance of Greek culture, the common cultural heritage of Greece and Cyprus, as well as the need for the restitution of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece.
