The Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for International Economic Relations, Georgios Tsipras, met at the Foreign Ministry, on Friday, 20 November, with the Italian Ambassador to Greece, Efisio Luigi Marras.
During the meeting, the high level of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries was confirmed, and potential, ways and ideas for further promoting these relations were examined. Moreover, sectors of common activities were identified; sectors in which there are prospects for mutually beneficial strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
Particular emphasis was put on the sectors of energy, agriculture and processing of agricultural products, and there was a discussion of specific plans for the energy networks in the wider region, as well as the common energy policy. Finally, there was a discussion of the cooperation between the two countries on a regional level and, in particular, the economic development of Southeast Europe, while developments in the Eurozone were reviewed.
