Greece is represented in Angola via parallel accreditation of its Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and there is an Honorary Consulate in Luanda. Angola opened its Embassy in Athens in 2003.

Political Relations

At bilateral level, our country’s cooperation with Angola at both the political and economic level, has been limited due to the long-standing civil war there. There is no Greek presence in Angola apart from the Honorary Consul who is active in the fields of shipping and oil trade, and three other Greek families, also living in Luanda.
On a multilateral level, there is considerable cooperation between the two countries within various international organisations, especially the United Nations. Greece also recognises Angola’s efforts towards stability in the area of the Great Lakes.
Competent Authority: Greek Embassy in Kinshasa,Congo.
