International conference on the occasion of 25 years of relations between Greece & Israel

The Conference has been convened by the Ecumenical Patriarchate with the Directorate of International Interreligious Affairs of the AJC (American Jewish Committee- American-Jewish Committee) in order to highlight the ties of religion, culture and identity, which are central to the lives of both traditions.
The meeting was a unique opportunity to confirm the bonds of friendship, understanding and cooperation between Orthodoxy and Judaism forged in recent decades, namely the Ecumenical Patriarchate, led by His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch. Bartholomew.
Among the main topics discussed in Congress was the commitment to freedom of religion and conscience, rejecting all forms of intolerance, particularly violence – particularly when it is practiced in the name of religion. There was therefore commitment to cooperate to combat all negative prejudice and persecution in the name of religion.

At the meeting the Ambassador’s residence honored bishops, Rabbis, MPs, politicians, presidents of Jewish Communities, academics, etc.
